Rachel Beausoleil is a French-Canadian jazz fusion chanteuse, and award-nominated producer. Born and raised in Montreal, Rachel has followed her life-long passion for voice work for over 30 years. She is based in Ottawa.
She is proud to present Sol da Capital, her first full album of original songs, in collaboration with Brazilian guitarist-composer Evandro Gracelli. She gratefully acknowledges the support of the Ontario Arts Council and the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition.
Since the late 1980s, Rachel has been part of many vocal groups, including:

♪ The Juliet Singers treble trio
♪ The Capital Voices mixed quartet
She has also fronted her own combos, including
♪ Latin jazz group, Caoba (1990s)
♪ Beausoleil Trio, with guitarist Garry Elliott and percussionist Liz Hanson
Rachel’s performances show her love of languages, world musics, and her dramatic flair. Notable venues include:

Rachel toured with the Panamérica Canção Project in 2013, alongside Gracelli and Emilio Martins (percussion), in Canada and Brazil.
Her voice studies include working with acclaimed bass-baritone Ingemar Korjus, and JUNO winner Jeri Brown. In Brazil she received instruction, and a thumbs-up, from living legend Rosa Passos.
Rachel’s previous recordings are Brazz (2020), The Dawning (2009), and Close to My Heart (2001). She is also featured as conductor and vocalist on Elise Letourneau’s Requiem for Fourteen Roses (2014).
